Humanity has been kept bound within the solar system for decades by a hostile alien race known as the Screen. A group of rebels steal an experimental starship and escape the solar system, commanded by former cadets John Roberts and Julie Olson. Determined to learn what the Screen has planned for humanity, the crew roams the stars in search of their mysterious enemy.

Almost annihilated by the Screen in battle, the crew and alien alliance members attempt to regroup and restart the mission. But the attack had a profound impact on John Roberts. Learning of secrets about his past as well as losing those close to him, can John bring the crew together to finish what they started, or will he sacrifice them in a quest for revenge?

This is the fourth novel in the exodus science fiction series.

Fury Of The Phoenix Exodus Book 4 eBook Robert Stadnik

Having read all four books in this series (twice), I can say that the one thing Robert Stadnik could do to immediately enhance his reception and improve his ratings would be to hire a good editor. There are entirely too many spelling, grammar, sentence structure and vocabulary errors in this series - the author writes about as well as a typical high school student. I rated him down at least one star for these obvious shortcomings. His imagination is good, his plot lines are good, his character development is fair, but his presentation leaves a lot to be desired. It really takes away from the reader's pleasure to have to work around these amateurish mistakes.

Fury Of The Phoenix Exodus Book 4 eBook Robert Stadnik Reviews

It was a great wrap up to the story in the first two books. It had adventure a future look to how people will work, fight, live and move off of old planet earth. The chacters were great and the approach to how they came to their positions in the story was interesting and different. Need to read the first two books to enjoy the final wrap up in this one.
This is one of the more believable CF novels I have had the pleasure of reading. This is the last of this series. I am now embarking on the next series. Which is as good as this one. Highly recommend it.
I really enjoyed this series. I do wish that the ending had been different. I mean what did the io do to captain Roberts? Why the special request for commander bowman? With no other books listed it leaves an ending with no answers. Also, I don't know why all of johns friends had to leave. I am glad Julie remained but come on, some others could have left too. I like happy endings
I absolutely loved the first three books in this saga. The end of book three had me screaming for this fourth and final book, so when it was released I bought it and started reading.

I was very disappointed and felt the book was written by a totally different author, the style was similar but the plot lines built up to nothing, none of the issues really resolved with any finality.

If you have read the first three you will need to read this one, you just have to, however expect to be disappointed on how it ends, leaves you disliking the book and wondering what just happened to the story you were reading (
The "Fury of The Phoenix" was outstanding. It answered a lot of questions, however, it left some others. Who are the "IO?" Why were they introduced? Is there going to be a follow on series with the Phoenix characters dealing with them? Fury of the Phoenix answered a lot of questions and created more questions than it answered. I'm looking forward to the follow on series dealing with the IO. A good story should always leave the reader wanting more and this book kept the readers attention and definitely has this reader looking forward to more.

I did. I originally liked the series due to the premise but more for the ship herself. Thinking of a starship as a city home, as a cruise ship with neighborhoods makes glorious sense and could be explored by a quality writer.

The writer though, is more interested in keeping new incidents coming at you rather than taking the time and hard work to develop where we already are. Its like, "ok that was fun, what can I throw at the crew next". Continuation just for the sake of keeping the reader does not make a good book.

It is to me like these books are an outline that a professional would revisit, expand and make worthy. Perhaps he is hoping for screen writers to do that.
This installment is the last one in the Exodus series and, unfortunately, I found it to be the weakest one. I definitely liked the book. It is a worthwhile read for sure. It did, however, not really meet up to the expectations that the other books have created. I almost get the impression that the author for some reason or another could not put as much effort in this book than the other ones but was obliged to complete it nevertheless.

It starts off with captain John Roberts having a serious breakdown (and I mean serious). I was not to thrilled by that but I could live with it. However, after a breakdown of that magnitude there is no way that a person can be back, not to mention sitting in the captains chair of a starship, in a couple of weeks or even a month.

Naturally the book leads up to a major battle with the Screen. I quite enjoyed that part of course since space ships slugging it out is my favorite kind of Science Fiction. This part was over quite quickly though. The Screen are more or less done and dealt with after a little more than half the book. I felt the entire home coming and defeat of the Screen was somewhat rushed.

The rest of the book mostly consists of aftermath talks, some fairly uninteresting murder story is added, some political stuff about the mutes and then the Io are brought back and used to generate a kind of cliffhanger or hook that could be used to continue the universe with a new book series. Quite frankly I felt that the real story was very short and that the book was kind of padded up to fill a certain number of pages.

As I said, I did like the book and would certainly recommend it as a good read but I did indeed have higher expectations for it.
